Some things last forever or nearly so.
Much we like or wish for is fleeting. Replacing
a treasured companion with something else
is not always helpful.
Life and love may be a battlefield. Scars
are a result of leaving a place where loss
and injury remain, providing a bittersweet
substitute.
Honor your loves with new ones.
Don't try to replace your old cat, heal
and help foster a new life, a new love.
