Mandy and Sparta doing well

Posted by Picasa

hey gary,

so sparta did really well at the vet the other day. everyone loved him and thought he was really sweet! he was purring so loud!! the vet couldn't even listen to his heart, because he was purring so much/loud. he was a little quiet when we got home, but was fine the next day.

as you can see from the pictures, he's doing great! mandy is showing sparta how to get water from the sink, he loves playing with the dog toys, even my money lol.

mandy is doing great too! she's gotten soooo big!!! i can't wait to take her in to see how much she weigh's now! we had an electrician come in the other day and he saw mandy and said "oh my god! that is a beautiful cat! what kind of cat is that" and couldn't believe how pretty she was and had never seen a cat so beautiful. as you can see from the picture's, she got into the flower's and had little pollen everywhere!

Leo and his Austin family write home and send pictures!

From: LEO the Lionhearted (Reddy’s ‘Bright Red Boy’):

Dear Grandpa Gary:

Mom and Dad said it’s time to write and send pictures. I’ll be one year old soon. So here we go.

Mom tells me I was the pick of the litter. Absolutely the most beautiful red boy hands down. (‘Sorry’ to my siblings, but this is what my Mom says). I have to say that I do think I’m pretty cute.

From the day I arrived, I was a "Daddy’s Boy." The first two nights, I slept right in the middle of the bed and I licked my Dad from head to toe. I was a little scared; it was a rough day leaving you and my birth Mom ‘Reddy,’ and my siblings. First, this one big silver monster swallowed me, (the jet). Somehow I got out and then another one got me! Just when I thought I was surely done for, there was Daddy and he took me home and talked to me the whole way. I met my new Mom and we played with new toys and later I fell asleep in her arms, a place where I like to be. What a day!

I like to follow Dad around the house and I run and greet him at the door when I hear the key in the lock. My best friend is "Mr. Peanut." I have sent a picture of us together.

I got fixed and I still got my claws! Mom says I’m a good boy and use the scratching post like I’m supposed to.

Mom & Dad say that I’m sweet and good-natured (with a mischievous side). I have a "champion" mane and tail, and have the distinct "M" marking on my forehead. One hair from my tail measures 6 ¾ inches! My whiskers are over 4" long. I have straight hairs mixed with curly hairs. My eyes changed from greenish to orange. I jump and fly high with the feline-flyer feather toy. And I fetch and bring things back to Mom & Dad to throw again. I can run like lightning. I walk with my tail held straight up with just the tip in a curl. The fur on my back legs is very long too, and Mom says that when I walk away from her, it looks like I have on a pair of billowy Russian pants with boots!

The Vet says that I’m "perfect," "inside and out." And although I’m just over 10 months old now, I weigh almost 12 pounds already, and I’m still growing! The babes at the Vet clinic know me and always ask about me. Yep, I’m a Maine-Coon through and through.

That’s all for now,

"LEO"
